gail konop bio

I fell in love with yoga 23 years ago and have been sharing that love ever since– first with my school-aged daughters in my living room and now with my students and clients.

I have studied a wide variety of yoga styles with teachers ranging from Baron Baptiste to Dharma Mittra and received my certification in prana-style flow. I am also a yoga therapist, yoga life coach, professional speaker, author and poet.

stuff i’m LOVING

A headshot of Gail Konop smiling in front of some books

bare toes in dewy grass, laughter, dancing, inverting, anything written or performed or visual that takes the top of my head off, brilliant TV, trashy TV, Kettle Brand truffle potato chips (if you haven’t tried these you have no idea what a wow gastronomical experience they deliver), deep and compelling conversation that elicits joy to the brink of tears, staring out the window daydreaming, long walks and hikes, community, writing poetry, teaching yoga, watching the world go by from my front porch through Japanese red maple leaves, my students, friends and family.

  • “I am so grateful that I found Gail’s yoga class 7 years ago. I love her style of yoga, her music, her energy, and her philosophy. My experience moving from Chicago to Madison was vastly enriched after finding her classes and community.”

  • “Gail’s yoga classes and community she has built has been truly life changing. It feels like coming home when I show up for Gail’s yoga - she makes everyone in the room feel comfortable to show up as they are, and be fully present and in their body. Not only does Gail’s warmth and authentic style of teaching put everyone at ease, the sequencing of the class feels SO good! Her yoga teaching is fun, as challenging or easeful as you want to make it, and healing for mind body and spirit. Gail loves each of her students fiercely and you can feel it when she is teaching. We are so lucky to have her as a yoga teacher in this world!”

  • “Gail has an amazing gift for creating safe and loving spaces for individual and collective exploration and reflection. Through the integration of movement and breath she facilitates deep conversation and connections in class and her workshops that move beyond the analytical thinking to the embodiment of intention. Her yoga philosophy series is for anyone who wants to find more clarity in their life, whether that is around a next big step, or simply finding more space to live joyfully. These sessions are small and intimate and left me both feeling truly seen by her and also seeing myself and my values more clearly."
